Peer Career Consultants
Fisher College of Business Peer Career Consultants are trained undergraduate and graduate business students prepared to support undergraduate business students by:
- Reviewing job search materials, including resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn and Handshake profiles, and employer/networking correspondence
- Planning customized internship and/or job search strategies
- Conducting QUIC Interviews and interview preparation conversations
- Discussing job offers for evaluation and negotiation assistance
- Presenting to business courses and student organizations on career-related topics

- “The resources provided through the Office of Career Management as well as upperclassmen mentors allowed me to succeed in my recruitment journey, and I wanted the chance to return the favor and help Fisher students succeed in all aspects of recruitment.”

- Best advice you would give a Fisher student in the midst of the internship/job search:
- “My best advice in the midst of a job search is to network with Fisher alumni and upperclassmen that have worked in roles/industries you are interested in to hear their experiences and learn more about the recruitment process. Getting involved on campus is a great way to find mentors and create an alumni network.”

- What inspired you to become a Peer Career Consultant?
- “I became a Peer Career Consultant to pay forward the guidance I’ve received during my time at Fisher. As a freshman, I had no idea what I wanted to do, but I knew some areas I was interested. By engaging in environments that catered to my interests, I was able to meet incredibly influential mentors who helped me find a fitting career path. Now, I’m excited to be this mentor for others and help them discover paths that match their passions and skills.”

- Best advice you would give a Fisher student in the midst of the internship/job search:
- “Get involved (but not too much)! Join clubs that genuinely strike your interest to build a well-rounded set of experiences you can draw from throughout your internship and job searches. I would also say to trust the process, even when it feels challenging or discouraging. Stay focused, stay curious, and the right opportunity will fall into place!”

- “During my own recruitment process, I often felt isolated, but the support I received had a profound impact on me. Now, I want to provide that same reassurance to others. Additionally, I have always enjoyed meeting new people and helping others. This role allows me to do both—connecting with a diverse range of students and offering the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed.”

- What inspired you to become a Peer Career Consultant?
- “I founded a small college prep business for upperclassmen in high school and found that I love giving back to those going down the same paths I have! So, I decided to apply to give back in the same way to Fisher students looking for jobs and internships. I am excited to be able to pass along insight and advice to help springboard OSU business students into the next phase of their careers!”
