On a typical autumn day, Fisher students move from one class to another, often stopping off at Mason Hall to pick up a coffee from Rohr Café. But on a recent Tuesday, students passing through Mason were surprised to walk into a celebration full of cheers, fist bumps, balloons, cookies and photos with fellow Business Buckeyes.

The reason for the festivities? A celebration of the college’s standing in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report rankings. Fisher climbed two spots to #12 overall and #6 among public universities in the annual ranking of undergraduate business programs.

“This exciting announcement has given our entire college community a surge of pride in the work we’re doing to provide our students with curriculum and hands-on learning experiences that define the Fisher experience,” said Jana Lithgow executive director of Fisher’s Undergraduate Programs office. “These rankings are one highly visible measure of our position as a premier destination for the very best in undergraduate business education.”

In addition to cracking the top 12, five academic specialties were also highlighted in the undergraduate rankings:

  • Logistics/Supply Chain: #5 overall and #4 among public universities
  • Accounting: #12 overall and #6 among public universities
  • Production/Operations: #12 overall and #9 public universities
  • Finance: #13 overall and #7 among public universities
  • Management: #23 overall and #13 among public universities (a rise of seven spots from 2025)

“Our positive movement in these latest rankings is a testament to the strength of our academic programs, our relationships with our corporate and community partners and the engagement of our dedicated alumni,” said Interim Dean Aravind Chandrasekaran. “And this improvement will continue. With more than 8,500 undergraduate students counting on us, we’re hard at work enhancing our curriculum, innovating on our experiential learning offerings and strengthening our connections to industry to elevate our students’ experiences even further.”

In addition to Fisher’s rankings, Ohio State also was named a top university in the annual survey, landing at #15 among public universities and #41 overall. Ohio State also ranked #15 among public institutions and #22nd nationally for military-affiliated students, and #21 among publics and #42 nationally among the Most Innovative Schools.
