What does it mean to be a Buckeye: For me, being a Buckeye means embracing a legacy of excellence, resilience, and community. It’s about upholding traditions, supporting fellow Buckeyes, and striving for success in academics, leadership, and service. Buckeye Pride is about embodying values of diversity, innovation, and determination. Whether you are cheering in the Shoe, engaging in groundbreaking research, or giving back to the community, being a Buckeye means belonging to something greater than yourself—a lifelong network of passionate, driven individuals. It’s about making an impact, leading with integrity, and always carrying the spirit of Ohio State forward. Once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye!

What does it mean to be a Buckeye: To be a Buckeye is to stand for years old traditions, to take those around you in your arms and bellow, how firm thy friendship. It is to be the spirit of this university, education, community, and city. To throw up your hands and yell OH, anticipating the always responsive IO. To be a Buckeye is to be a part of this Ohio State family, the biggest in the world, which is ever present and always looking out for each other. It is an honor and a gift to be able to call myself a Buckeye!

What does it mean to be a Buckeye: Opportunity. Upon coming to Ohio State I cited opportunity as my biggest motive for coming to Columbus, for me a lot of people meant a lot of opportunity. I was not wrong, being a Buckeye has unlocked more doors than I ever believed possible and this does not stop at graduation. Being a Buckeye means being a part of a community past, present, and future. Allowing past lessons to prepare us for the future and make us more resilient. Not letting labels control what you are able to accomplish and sharing these successes to future generations of Buckeyes!
